Accessibility Statement
YALI Network Abuja wants everyone, including people who use assistive technology, to be able to use this website.
Last updated:
1. Our commitment
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We treat accessibility as part of how the site is built, not a finishing touch.
2. What we have done
- A “Skip to main content” link, a logical heading structure and clear page landmarks on every page.
- Full keyboard use: menus, tabs, filters, the photo gallery and forms all work without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text and interface colours that meet the required contrast ratios, and text that can be resized and reflows down to a 320 px wide screen.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms with visible labels, clear error messages, and focus moved to the first problem.
- Motion is reduced for visitors who ask their device to avoid animation.
3. How we test
We check pages with automated tools (axe-core against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules) and by hand, using the keyboard and by checking reflow and target sizes. Automated tools cannot find every issue, so we also welcome your reports.
4. Known limitations
- A few photos supplied to us are low resolution and may look soft on large or high-density screens.
- Some links lead to third-party websites (for example social networks and funders) that we do not control.
- Countdown timers update every second visually; screen readers are given a summary once a minute so they are not interrupted.
5. Tell us about a problem
If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, please email yaliabuja@gmail.com or use the contact form. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use if relevant. We aim to reply within five working days.
