Privacy Policy

YALI Network Abuja respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated:

1. Who we are

This website is operated by YALI Network Abuja (“YALI”, “we”, “us”). We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site. You can reach us at yaliabuja@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed for the purpose you contact us about:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
  • Partnership form: your name, organization, phone number, email address, partnership interest and message.
  • Community form: your name, email address and message.
  • Event registration: your name, email address, phone number, country, organization (optional), role, attendance mode and any accessibility or dietary needs you choose to share.
  • Newsletter: your email address.
  • Stored in a database: form submissions, event registrations, opportunity applications (including a CV if you upload one) and newsletter sign-ups are saved in a managed database so that our team can respond to you and manage events. Only authorized YALI team members can access them.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

Please do not send us sensitive information (for example health, financial account or government ID details) through the website forms.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries and messages.
  • To review and follow up on partnership requests.
  • To send you our newsletter, if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To keep the website secure, understand how it is used and improve it.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the website and communications, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms. These are Vercel (website hosting), Neon (the database where form submissions and event registrations are stored), Resend (which delivers a copy of your contact, partnership or community message to our team’s inbox) and, if you subscribe, our email provider.
  • Programme or partner organizations, but only where you ask us to or have given your consent.
  • Authorities or advisers where we are legally required to, or need to protect our rights.

6. Third-party services

To display this website we load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives technical information such as your IP address. Links to external sites (for example funders, fellowships and social networks) are governed by those sites’ own privacy policies. See our Cookies Policy for details.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries are normally deleted once they are resolved, unless a longer period is required.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete your information or restrict how we use it;
  • object to our processing, or withdraw consent you previously gave;
  • receive your information in a portable format where applicable.
